Holliday's Fashions Adds New Stores In Montgomery, AL Area
Holliday's Fashions, a Memphis, Tennessee-based chain of women's
clothing stores, will open two new stores in Montgomery, Alabama
in mid- September 2007. The first store will be located at 5887
Atlanta Hwy in the Eastdale Square Shopping Center, next to Winn-Dixie.
The second location will be located at 2885 E. South Boulevard in
Governor's Square shopping center, near Ashley Stewart, Burke's
Outlet and Barnhill's Buffet. Holliday's Fashions isn't new to the
state of Alabama. The company currently has 3 stores in Huntsville,
Tuscaloosa, and Florence. The new stores in Montgomery will be the
4th and 5th Holliday's location in Alabama, and the 28th and the
29th in the regional chain.
Holliday's Fashions is known for offering high quality, brand-name
clothing for Juniors, Misses and Plus-size customers at prices 40%-60%
lower than department and specialty stores. Holliday's is able to
do this because their buyers shop the major markets and negotiate
for the best deals, then work on a lower markup. "This translates
into lower prices in our stores," explains Don Bell, President and
General Merchandising Manager. "We buy the merchandise from manufacturers
for less, and then we add a smaller markup than what is typical
in the retail industry. We choose to pass on those savings to our
guests. Our loyal guests know they are getting a "real value" at
our everyday low prices," explains Bell.
Holliday's Fashions was founded in 1976 as a father-and-son wholesaler
that evolved into a manufacturing operation. "We opened our first
retail store in 1986 to get rid of excess inventory. The idea was
to offer real value at various price points," said Brad Holliday,
Owner. As more women entered the workforce, a demand for more quality
clothing at a reasonable price emerged. Holliday's retail format
was so successful that the manufacturing business was ultimately
replaced by a growing retail chain. "Our mission now is to give
our guests the best value on fashion in an easy to shop format in
all of our stores", said Holliday.
"We are selling the same quality garments by many of the same
makers of clothes you find at specialty and department stores, but
for less," Bell stated. "We work to make all of our stores look
more upscale to reflect the quality of the merchandise. We want
our customers to have the same sense of value they get when shopping
at a better specialty store, so we make our stores look and feel
that way. But the prices will remain low, as compared to the same
items in department stores", said Bell.
Holliday's also offers private label merchandise, which allows
the store the ability to offer timely items in coordinating colors
and predictable quality, made exclusively for Holliday's, under
their own label. All of the stores also have a variety of custom
designed accessories including jewelry, handbags and much more.
